Experiences
Every summer, I babysit for a family of three. As their babysitter, I am responsible for driving the kids to soccer practice, supervising them throughout their day, making them meals, entertaining them and much much more. My job as a babysitter has opened my eyes to how much I love kids and how much I want to be involved with them when I am older.
I also work in the Athens Preschool every other week. This is a class I take during school hours. The children come in at around 11:00 and stay until 2:00. I am with the kids from 11-12 and then I leave to go to my other classes. I love this class so much because I am able to interact and have fun with kids. My responsibility as a "teacher" is to help plan the lessons/centers, work the centers, and much more. This class has given me experience with kids and lesson planning that will help me with my future.

During the summer in 2015, I attended the MASC MAHS Leadership Camp. I was divided into a group of 17 amazing leaders from all over the state. During this week, we learned about the importance of being a leader and what a leader truly is to you. I am attending Leadership Camp this summer and cannot wait to learn more about the importance of leadership camp.
Another camp I attend during the summer is Springhill. This is a Christian camp that goes on for the entire summer. I attend this camp for two weeks. Since I am in High School, I am what they call a TST camper meaning I work half of the time and I play half of the time. We volunteer over 14 hours throughout our time there. This camp has really molded me into the person I am today and I cannot wait until I am able to be a real counselor to amazing kids.
As a member of Student Council, I have been given numerous opportunities to speak at conferences about our schools charity week. At the State Conference, our presentation won Best in Showcase. This meant that our presentation was one of the favorites of the entire conference. I have also been able to attend conferences where leadership and many other important attributes have been discussed.
